2-Car Injury Accident Snarls Traffic on Hwy. 85

Lanes were closed for about two hours, forcing drives to the shoulder of the road.

All lanes on northbound state Highway 85 in Cupertino are open this afternoon following an injury-accident, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The two-car crash was reported at 11:20 a.m. just south of Stevens Creek Boulevard. An alert was issued at 11:33 a.m. and canceled at 12:23 p.m., according to the CHP.

One vehicle flipped in the crash, which blocked more than three lanes for about an hour, CHP Officer James Evans said.

The closed lanes forced drivers onto the shoulder to pass through the area, according to Evans.

One person was possibly ejected onto the roadway and other injuries were reported, according to the CHP.
