Cupertino Man Dies After Crashing Car on Rural Road

Driver appeared to have lost control of his car and collied with fence.

A man is dead after his car collided with a fence in rural Cupertino this morning, according to a California Highway Patrol spokesman.

Around 9:35 a.m., CHP officers responded to reports of a collision on Stevens Canyon Road near Mount Eden Road, CHP spokesman Officer DJ Sarabia said.

When they arrived, officers found a man who appeared to have lost control of his car and driven off the road and up an embankment where he crashed into a fence, Sarabia said.

Officers said the man was not breathing when they found him and believe he may have had a heart attack, Sarabia said.

The man was brought to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
