Cupertino Sheriff's Blotter, April 14-19: Impersonation, DUI, Theft at Vallco Mall

A look at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's arrests for Cupertino for the period of April 14-19, 2013. The following arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

 

False ID to Police Officer

  • Tito Mabanta, of San Jose, 29, 5:45 p.m. April 16, at 10030 So. De Anza Blvd. in Cupertino, for misdemeanor false identification to police officer, misdemeanor driving with privileges suspended or revoked and two infractions for windshield obstructing view and exceeding the 65 maximum speed limit. Bail set at $11,000.

  • Jeffrey Johnson, 41, of Cupertino, 10:40 a.m. March 4, at 19722 Bixby Drive in Cupertino, for misdemeanor resisting, delaying, or obstructing a peace officer and a citation for misuse, or allowing the misuse of the 911 telephone system.

Vehicle Code Violations

  • Ka Ieong, 19, of Sunnyvale, 1 a.m. April 5, at De Anza Boulevard and Mariani Avenue in Cupertino, for misdemeanor driving with a suspended or revoked license.
  • Joshua Lee, 21, of San Jose, 2:15 p.m. April 15, at Stevens Creek Boulevard and Bandley Drive in Cupertino, for three infractions relating to failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility of vehicle, not wearing seat belt, driving at such a slow speed as to impede or block the normal and reasonable movement of traffic; and misdemeanor driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
  • Richard Bias, 38, of Caruthers, 11:55 a.m. April 8, at Foothill Boulevard and Salem Avenue in Cupertino, for two infractions for having an expired registration, failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility of vehicle and misdemeanor driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
  • Manuel Ruiz, 27, of San Jose, 8:25 a.m. April 14, at De Anza Boulevard and Homestead Road in Cupertino, for a windshield infraction and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.
  • Byron Lopez, 46, of San Jose, 10:40 a.m. April 15, at De Anza Boulevard and Bollinger Road in Cupertino, for three infractions related to misuse of registration, not having required stop lamps, failing to provide evidence of financial responsibility of vehicle and misdemeanor having a suspended license and driving with privileges suspended or revoked.

DUI

  • Alfredo Ortiz, 24, of Cupertino, 11:46 p.m. April 18, at Prospect Road and Saratoga Avenue, for misdemeanor DUI and felony possession of a controlled substance. Bail set at $15,000.
  • Rayma Coday, 68, of San Jose, 4:55 p.m. April 19, at Stevens Creek Boulevard and Saich Way in Cupertino, for misdemeanor DUI and driving under the influence. Bail set at $10,000.

Probation Violation

  • Tracy Zuniga, 22, of San Jose, 10:25 p.m. April 19, at De Anza Boulevard and Homestead Road in Cupertino, for felony re-arrest, probation violation and misdemeanor using/ being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Petty Theft

  • Judy Chung, 51, of Milpitas, 6:50 p.m. April 1, at Macy's at the Vallco Shopping Mall, 10123 No. Wolfe Rd. in Cupertino, for misdemenaor petty theft of personal property, larceny.
