KlaasKids Foundation Organizes Saturday Search for Sierra LaMar

The has organized more volunteer searches for missing Morgan Hill teen ; the next one on Saturday.

Football players from the San Francisco 49ers, including quarterback Alex Smith and his wife Elizabeth, are expected to attend, according to the KlaasKids Foundation.

Sierra, 15, has been missing since March 16, when she did not show up for school on a Friday morning, the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office said.

The searches follow others conducted by the foundation and by the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office, most recently one conducted Thursday by about 20 deputies in parts of San Martin and Gilroy, the sheriff's office said.

The search is part of a continuing effort on behalf of the KlaasKids Foundation to complement efforts by the sheriff's office, who have been searching for Sierra since her disappearance was reported on the evening of March 16.

The KlaasKids Foundation says searches will take place on Saturday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be based out of the Burnett Elementary School in Morgan Hill. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and register with photo ID at the search center.

The KlaasKids Foundation said they need people to help search on foot and to work in the Find Sierra Search Center. They are also accepting food and office supply donations.
