The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 25-year-old San Carlos man who was last seen more than two weeks ago and recently told his family he wanted to walk to San Jose to visit his grandparents..
Dereck Ohlsen this week was reported missing by his parents, who last saw him at home on Sept. 4 at about 8:30 p.m., sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Rosenblatt said.
Ohlsen was described as a "homebody," though in recent weeks he reportedly started taking long walks around San Mateo County, Rosenblatt said.
Ohlsen is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs around 155 pounds.
He has brown hair and blue eyes.
