Santa Clara County investigators found a Juicy-brand bag belonging to who went missing on Friday, a sheriff's spokesman announced this morning.
The bag was found at about 1 p.m. Sunday in the area of Laguna Avenue and Santa Teresa Boulevard, about 2 miles from Sierra's mother's home, Santa Clara County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jose Cardoza said.
Inside the bag, investigators found a pair of pants and a T-shirt "neatly folded," Cardoza said. It has been confirmed that the clothing and purse belong to Sierra, he said.
Cardoza said the sheriff's office wanted to wait to release the information until they were sure the items belong to the missing teen.
Searchers are heading out today to scour locations within a 3-mile radius of Sierra's home, including fields, backyards, waterways and cul-de-sacs, Cardoza said.
