More Ground and Water Searches for Sierra LaMar Friday Afternoon
Open fields and construction sites plus two reservoirs on the search agenda for missing Morgan Hill girl.
Ground and water searches in portions of southern Santa Clara County will be underway Friday afternoon by Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue teams looking for clues in the disappearance of .
The ground search will focus on open fields and construction sites in south Morgan Hill. Water searches at Almaden Reservoir—located on the border of Almaden Quicksilver County Park—will be aided by a specially trained search and rescue dog, according to a statement released by Santa Clara County Sheriff’s department. The side scan sonar, which has been used in previous water searches in South County, will be used at Guadalupe Reservoir, which is located about five miles east of San Jose.
Police were unable to conduct the searches earlier in the week at Almaden and Guadalupe reservoirs as originally planned.

LaMar, 15, has been missing since March 16 and . Her family is offering to the first person with information that leads to her safe return.
Earlier in the week police announced they had linked a 1990s red Volkswagen Jetta in the kidnapping of the Morgan Hill teen and were conducting forensic tests on the car.
