Reports of a shooting in the area of Homestead Road and Tantau Avenue early Wednesday morning forced Homestead High School to lock down, authorities say.
There is also an unconfirmed report of a carjacking in the area that may be related to the shooting.
The activity in the Homestead Road area follows a shooting at Lehigh Cement plant earlier in the day where it has been reported that an employee opened fire during a meeting at the quarry's plant killing two and injuring four.
