UPDATE: Roads Near Valley Medical Center Shut Down Temporarily

A possible suicidal person on top floor of a parking structure near Valley Med has caused the closure of roads in the area of S. Bascom Road in San Jose.

Update from Santa Clara County Sheriff's as of 4:13 p.m.: 

At approximately 4 p.m. this afternoon, the adult male fell from the 4th floor parking structure. Emergency medical personnel on scene that were staged on the ground, quickly initiated CPR on the victim. The adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office is currently at the scene of a possible suicidal person at Valley Medical Center.

At approximately 1:35pm, Santa Clara County Communications received a 911 call regarding an adult male who was near the edge on the top 4th floor parking structure. The adult male remains sitting/standing near the edge at this time. Sheriff's deputies are currently on scene and are engaged in a dialogue with the male person. Deputies are attempting to have the adult male voluntarily move away from the ledge.

Nearby roads surrounding the parking structure on the north end of Valley Medical Center campus have been shut down as a precaution. No further information is available at this time.
