School Bus Strikes, Injures Elderly Cyclist

An 82-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured after he was struck by a school bus in west San Jose Friday afternoon, a California Highway Patrol officer said.

The crash at Prospect Road and South De Anza Boulevard was reported at 2:09 p.m., according to the CHP.

The bus was carrying an unspecified number of students at the time
of the crash. The students and driver were not injured, CHP Officer Chris
Falkowski said.

According to the CHP, the rider's legs were reportedly stuck under the bus.

He was taken to the hospital with major injuries, Falkowski said.
