A look at the Santa Clara County Sheriff's arrests and booking reports for July 27-29, 2012. The following arrest information does not indicate a conviction.

Domestic Violence

  • Debra Meek, 47, of Cupertino, July 29, 1:15 a.m., at Stendahl Lane in Cupertino, for felony inflicting corporal injury on spouse/cohabitant.

DUI

Contempt of Court

  • Valentin Munoz Chavez, 40, of Campbell, July 27, 9:20 p.m., at De Anza Boulevard and Park Place in Cupertino, for misdemeanor contempt of court.

Possession

  • Michael Omalley, 24, of Sunnyvale, July 27, 7:30 p.m., at Homestead Road and De Anza Boulevard in Cupertino, for felony possession of narcotics/controlled substance, possession of narcotics/controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of narcotics paraphernalia, use/under the influence of controlled substance. Bail set at $26,000.
  • Joseph Lenzi, 24, of San Jose, July 28, 9 a.m., at Tasman and Cisco Way in Milpitas, for evasion of payment on a fare system, misdemeanor false name to peace officer, use/under the influence of controlled substance, possession controlled substance. Bail set at $62,000.
  • Jeffery Banks, 60, of San Jose, July 27, 10:15 a.m., at 301 Butterfield Blvd. and Diana Ave. in Morgan Hill, for DUI.
  • Ung Tang, 28, of San Jose, July 27, 1:50 p.m., at the Santa Clara County Superior Courthouse in Palo Alto, 270 Grant Ave., for DUI.
  • John Greenleaf, 53, of Saratoga, July 27, 9:12 p.m., on Orchard Road in Saratoga, for misdemeanor DUI and driving on a suspended license. Bail set at $6,000.
  • Luis Martinez Aguilar, 29, of Los Angeles, July 28, 3:35 a.m., at Highway 280 and Magdalena in Los Altos, for misdemeanor DUI, driving while unlicensed and driving under the influence. Bail set at $10,000.
  • Guillermo Olvera, 27, of Morgan Hill, July 29, 1:36 a.m., at Monterey and Rucker Road in Morgan Hill, for misdemeanor DUI and driving while unlicensed. Bail set at $5,000.
  • Reynaldo Gonzalez, 29, of Morgan Hill, July 29, 2:50 a.m., at Santa Teresa and Sunshine in Morgan Hill, for misdemeanor DUI. Bail set at $5,000.
  • Jermaine Cecena, 26, of Hollister, July 29, 5:10 a.m., at Dunne and Buttonfield in Morgan Hill, for felony parole hold and misdemeanor DUI.
  • Dean Martin, 38, of Los Altos, July 29, 7:45 p.m., at Anderson Lake Park in Morgan Hill, for misdemeanor DUI. Bail set at $5,000.

Under the Influence

  • Wesley Andrew, 21, of Los Altos, July 27, 7:22 p.m. at Homestead and No. Wolfe roads in Cupertino, for misdemeanor rearrest, revocation of probation, and using/being under the influence of a controlled substance.
  • Trenton Lawrence, 20, of Sunnyvale, July 27, 7:30 p.m., at Homestead Road and De Anza Boulevard in Cupertino, for felony possession of controlled substance, possession of drugs and alcohol in prison/jail, misdemeanor using/being under the influence of controlled substance. Bail set at $40,000.
  • Ismael Garcia, 43, of Gilroy, July 29, 11:45 p.m., at Gilman and Camino Arroyo in Gilroy, for misdemeanor use/under the influence of controlled substance, trespassing.

Assault

  • Charles Baugher, 50, no address given, July 28, 10:30 a.m., at Roosevelt and Harding in San Martin, for misdemeanor assault and battery, enter/etc. noncommercial dwelling, use/under the influence of controlled substance. Bail set at $11,000.

Prostitution

  • Daesha Moore, 19, of San Jose, July 29, 3:30 a.m., at Quito Road and Paseo Cerro in Saratoga, for misdemeanor loitering with intent to commit prostitution.

Vehicle Code Violations

  • Sergio Reyes, 29, of Redwood City, June 15, 4:44 p.m., at Natoma and Simon in Los Altos Hills, for misdemeanor suspended license.

Operation of Watercraft While Under the Influence

  • Jeremiah Ponce, 26, of Morgan Hill, July 29, 6:30 p.m., at 18298 Coyote Rd. in Morgan Hill, for misdemeanor no wake zone, operating vessel while under the influence, using watercraft while under the influence. Bail set at $2,612.

Petty Theft

  • Hoang Nguyen, 28, of Santa Clara, July 29, 8 p.m., at 18298 Coyote Rd. in Morgan Hill, for misdemeanor petty theft and infraction for expired registration. Bail set at $7,643.

I too was at this Challenge Day. It was my 6th. I first volunteered because I watched the programRead More on MTV "If You Really Knew Me" when my son was being severely bullied in middle school and saw the program was offered when he was a freshman in high school. My company strongly supports me volunteering for this and allows me to take the day off work to attend. I am continually humbled by what these teens share and saddened at what some of them have experienced in their short lives. This program is so valuable. I think every school should offer it and every parent should attend. It helps us to realize that we need to think twice before we judge or assume things about others when we know nothing about them. It is the volunteering opportunity that I look forward to participating in every year.
