U.S. Bank on Stevens Creek Boulevard Robbed on Wednesday

A man wearing a fake beard and dark glasses is sought for the robbery of a Cupertino bank. The suspect may have also robbed two other Bay Area banks recently, police said.

A man wearing a fake beard and dark glasses robbed a U.S. Bank on Stevens Creek Boulevard Wednesday morning, getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

At about 10:38 a.m. the suspect entered the bank at 19620 Stevens Creek Blvd. and handed the teller a note which said the suspect was armed and demanded money from the bottom and top drawers.

The teller did not see a weapon, Sgt. Troy Smith, Santa Clara County Sheriff’s spokesman said.

The teller handed over the money and the suspect put the money in a blue plastic bag and walked out of the bank. Smith said that was the last anyone saw of the suspect.

The suspect, who matches the description of recent bank robberies in South San Francisco and Fremont, is described as 5-foot 5-inches tall, 150 pounds and is either Eastern Indian or white. He wore dark glasses and a glued on fake beard and spoke English with no accent.
