Water searches by Santa Clara County Sheriff’s dive team will resume this week in the southern portions of the county in its ongoing search for .
Early in the week police will check Parkway Lakes in south San Jose followed by Anderson, Coyote, Almaden and Guadalupe reservoirs located througout southern Santa Clara County. Police will again utilize the , which is able to detect objects below the surface of water.
Uvas and Chesboro reservoirs and other bodies of water in South County were checked in mid-April, but it is unclear if anything significant to Sierra’s disappearance was located.
Investigators continue to follow up on the more than 1,600 tips that have come in as the search for 15-year-old Sierra is entering its seventh week.
Dozens of searches have been conducted throughout the area and thousands of hours have been logged including organized searches by since her March 16 disappearance when she left home in the morning for Sobrato Hill school.
