A juvenile male was arrested at Friday evening for exposing himself to at least one child in a play structure inside the store.
Santa Clara County Sheriff’s deputies determined that the juvenile, whose name or age cannot be released because he is a minor, was under the influence of some kind of controlled substance, according to Sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Don Morrissey.
The call to police came in around 7:23 p.m., but at least one witness told Patch the juvenile had been behaving oddly at around 7 p.m. and Morrissey said other witnesses said the behavior may have started closer to 6:15 p.m.
In a play structure at the store on Stevens Creek Boulevard the suspect “tried to fondle children, pulled his pants down and touched himself,” the Patch reader said.
“We were quite disgusted and shocked at the incident,” Patch was told.
Firefighters were called to the scene to assist with treating the suspect for any medical needs.
The juvenile was disoriented, almost hallucinating, and didn’t know where he was, Morrissey said. He also made incriminating statements, but Morrissey was unable to provide more detail on those statements.
The young male was arrested for annoying and harassing a child under the age of 18, and remains in jail. The case is still open and under investigation.
