No BART Strike After Governor Steps In

Trains will be running on a regular schedule Monday after Gov. Jerry Brown stepped in to prevent a strike.

Union officials said Sunday evening that Gov. Jerry Brown has called for a seven day board of inquiry reviewing BART contract negotiations.

The announcement means that a threatened strike, set to begin at midnight if no contract agreement was reached, will not take place, according to union officials.

BART and union negotiators met throughout the weekend, but no accord was reached.
