Obama Wants Your Jobs Ideas

White House wants to bypass Congress and use your ideas to create jobs.

is looking for a slick Joe Thornton-style passer to assist in netting ideas on jobs creation for the country.

“If you have an idea for something President Obama can do without the help of Congress, or know of a program in your community that needs to go nationwide, I want to hear from you,” said Nancy-Ann DeParle, deputy chief of staff for policy in a White House release.

(For the hockey-challenged out there, Joe Thornton is an elite hockey player on the San Jose Sharks, arguably one of the best passers in National Hockey League history.)

Reminiscent of another Joe we know—California State Senator this time, who holds a “” contest for constituents with the best ideas for what needs to be a law—the White House wants your ideas for creating jobs; ideas that don’t need to go through the concrete wall of Congress, which as DeParle said, “some in Congress are determined to block (Obama’s) jobs plan.”

“For the past few weeks, I've been leading a series of meetings here at the White House to come up with steps we can take right now to create more jobs—without Congress. That's why President Obama has signed orders to streamline research grants for entrepreneurs, help families refinance their mortgages, and make it easier for graduates to repay their student loans.”
