Anna continues to wrestle at Lynbrook, recently finishing first in her weight class at the Overfelt and Half Moon Bay tournaments. She also finished 3rd in the Newark boy's tournament. Anna has two female teammates this year, Sheila Metz and Radha Shah. They both placed second at Half Moon Bay. Sheila earned a third place finish at Folsom's tournament and 3rd at the Newark boy's tournament. Anna is thankful to her coaches, Bill Fatjo and Alan Vinciguerra. Lynbrook social studies teacher and coach Nate Martell has been very supportive of her, also. Coach Bill said, "Anna is amazing!!!! She is one of my stars. Anna is self motivated to no end, she has a great attitude, super coach-able, I can't say enough about her. When she came in as a freshman I was excited and now to see her and how she has progressed I am even more excited. I love working with her she is absolutely a BLAST!!!!!! Again i can't say enough good things about that girl as not just a wrestler but also as a person."
Anna's younger sister, Bridget Naylor, now wrestles for Miller Middle School.
This Saturday, Lynbrook hosts the Lynbrook Wrestling Challenge. Come cheer on Anna, Sheila, Radha and the Lynbrook wrestling team beginning at 9AM in the Lynbrook gym.

It's difficult to know what's going on in a kid's mind unless they feel confident enough to open upRead More and talk. And this program helps us adults to learn to listen differently.

I too was at this Challenge Day. It was my 6th. I first volunteered because I watched the programRead More on MTV "If You Really Knew Me" when my son was being severely bullied in middle school and saw the program was offered when he was a freshman in high school. My company strongly supports me volunteering for this and allows me to take the day off work to attend. I am continually humbled by what these teens share and saddened at what some of them have experienced in their short lives. This program is so valuable. I think every school should offer it and every parent should attend. It helps us to realize that we need to think twice before we judge or assume things about others when we know nothing about them. It is the volunteering opportunity that I look forward to participating in every year.
