De Anza College Seeking Student Models

Students will represent the college in advertising and marketing programs.

De Anza College is putting out the call for student models to represent the college in print ads, class catalogues, bus posters, web sites and social media pages.

It’s an annual call the college has been making for several years said Marisa Spadafore, Director, Marketing/Communications and Development at the college. But this year, in an effort to reach more potential student models the college is using Facebook to reach students who may not otherwise hear about the opportunity.

“We want to give as many people as possible a chance to participate,” Spadafore said, adding that the college hopes to use between 20 and 25 models for an upcoming two-day photo shoot on campus. She emphasized that no experience is necessary and that both male and female models are needed.

Is there a specific look the college is seeking for the models?

“Not at all; we want a variety of looks that will represent the entire student body,” Spadafore said.

Student models probably shouldn’t give up their studies to pursue a lucrative career as a De Anza model, though. There’s no money involved Spadafore said. Instead, Spadafore said students “have the pleasure of participating and representing their college.”

Photo shoots will take place over a two day period at a variety of locations on campus with a professional photographer.

Interested students should stop by the Marketing/Communications office in the college’s administration building between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Tuesday, April 23, to pick up an application and let the staff know their schedule availability. While there, students will sign a photo release and have their picture taken.

Models will be chosen to represent the diverse student body, and based on the number of applications received and availability within the shoot schedule.
