College Bound Genius is a boutique branch of the renowned Young Genius Educational Center located in downtown Los Gatos, CA. CBG specializes in all the necessary services which prepare your child to ascend to the next step in his life with the best possible arsenal.

We teach students in small groups or one-one-on so that we can focus on each student’s weaknesses and develop a curriculum to target those problem areas. Our teachers are from top colleges in California and are professionals in the Bay Area. They are well versed in the college process, thus our teachers not only help raise your child's entrance exam scores but they also mentor the student to reach his/her full potential and ultimately end up in the college of his/her dreams.

SAT Preparation

Students should aim to take at least one SAT plus writing, as it is a requirement for college admission. Students are encouraged to retake the SAT if they are not satisfied with their scores since collegeboard allows students to chose which scores they would like colleges to see.

Next Test Date: October 6th
Register by: September 7th

CBG is dedicated to improving our students' scores with either an intense specialized one-on-one training program targeting each students problem areas or with small group camps, meeting on an everyday basis. Usually within a week our students see a 50 points increase in their scores.
In the past our students have improved in at least 200 points after taking our preparation course and are now attending top universities around the US.

One-one-One Sessions
To receive an evaluation on your recommended one-on-one action plan, please contact us directly. Since every student is different CBG does not have a generic preparation plan available for your view. The amount of recommended sessions will vary according to each student's skill level.

Small Group Classes
If your child just needs basic preparation for the SAT or has never taken the SAT before CBG recommends small group preparation. These are 3 hour long daily SAT Preparation Classes in our Los Gatos Office, featuring 1 hour of Critical Reading, 1 hour of Math, and 1 hour of Writing preparation. Students will learn the College Bound Genius approach to the test and gain skills of time management and problem solving.

CBG offers weekly summer packages because we understand our students have busy schedules, thus we let you, the customer come up with your own study plan. You can mix and match the weeks however you may prefer. The material taught during each week is not relevant to one another. Thus, if you choose not to attend classes consequentially it will not effect your preparation. As per CGB recommendation: we encourage our students to sign up for at least 3 weeks of sessions before they begin to see notable results.

It's difficult to know what's going on in a kid's mind unless they feel confident enough to open upRead More and talk. And this program helps us adults to learn to listen differently.

I too was at this Challenge Day. It was my 6th. I first volunteered because I watched the programRead More on MTV "If You Really Knew Me" when my son was being severely bullied in middle school and saw the program was offered when he was a freshman in high school. My company strongly supports me volunteering for this and allows me to take the day off work to attend. I am continually humbled by what these teens share and saddened at what some of them have experienced in their short lives. This program is so valuable. I think every school should offer it and every parent should attend. It helps us to realize that we need to think twice before we judge or assume things about others when we know nothing about them. It is the volunteering opportunity that I look forward to participating in every year.
