Foothill-De Anza Hearing on SJSU's End to Guaranteed Admissions is Wednesday

SJSU's long-held promise to admit every qualified South Bay resident appears to nearing an end, but not before students voice their concerns 12:15 to 2 p.m.

Think college is tough? It's about to get tougher, the Bay Area News Group reports.

Foothill College's Appreciation Hall is the site San Jose State University's 12:15 p.m. public hearing on Wednesday on raising its minimum requirements for admission of South Bay students. It would end the guarantee that such students would receive for admission.

De Anza College students have an opportunity to weigh in on the subject at this only North County hearing, one of three public hearings held this week. One was held in San Jose on Monday and on Thursday the last one will be heard at East Side Union High School's District Board Room, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
