High Schools Will Open on Thursday

Schools that were closed due to the armed gunman loose in the area will open for class on Thursday.

Fremont Union High School District students should plan on attending classes as usual on Thursday even though gunman Shareef Allman has not been caught, school officials said.

The district sent out this official notice Wednesday evening:

We remain in regular contact with law enforcement officials who are handling today’s emergency situation in the Cupertino/Sunnyvale area. At this time, we are being advised to hold school tomorrow as usual.   We will be monitoring the situation throughout the night and will provide updates should anything change.

If there are any updates before the start of school on Thursday morning, students and parents will be notified via the district’s Emergency Notification System, School Loop, and school websites.

Erring on the side of caution Fremont Union High School District schools closed for the day when it learned had shot nine people at Lehigh Cement plant and an HP employee Wednesday morning.
