Parents with students at Homestead High School are reporting that Homestead is also in lockdown as a precaution. Here is the message parents are receiving:

This is Graham Clark, Associate Superintendent at the Fremont Union High School District.  Today is Friday, January 25 at 11:15.  Homestead High School is currently in a Code Red.  Our other four campuses are operating normally.  Police are on site.  We want to assure you our students are safe and we will send you more information as soon as we have updates.

And there's this from a Patch reader: "Early Horizons on Lewiston (which shares space with the French-American school and DeLor Montessori) is also on lockdown."

Parents of students at multiple Sunnyvale schools in a lockdown because of a suspect search this morning are being told to go to a nearby intersection for more information, according to city and school district officials.

The city's website stated at 11:22 a.m. that parents should go to the southeast corner of Homestead Road and South Mary Avenue for information about the incident, which has prompted the lockdown of Cupertino Middle School and West Valley Elementary School.

The statement says children cannot be picked up at this time.

City officials said a search was under way between the areas of Homestead Road, South Bernardo Avenue, Helena Drive and Wright Avenue.

Cupertino Union School District spokesman Jeremy Nishihara said Cupertino Middle School, which is within the search area, is locked down while West Valley Elementary School, which is located nearby, was also locked down as a precaution.

Streets are also blocked off in the area, city officials said.
