Sports field lighting and noise concerns at the sports fields of Monta Vista and Lynbrook High Schools will be the main draw of Tuesday’s Fremont Union High School board meeting.
The Recirculated Environmental Impact Reports (REIR) for the proposed track and field improvements for both schools will be the subject of discussion at Tuesday’s meeting at Lynbrook High School, beginning at 7 p.m.
Both projects face neighborhood objections with concerns about unwanted nighttime lighting and noise impacts from the proposed use of Monday through Saturday until 9 p.m. with additional six evenings for football games until 10:30 p.m.
Historically, neither school had lighted fields and evening sport events and band practices were held at Cupertino High School.
Improvements for the fields are part of a $198 million June 2008-passed Measure B school bond.
