'Teachers of the Year' To Be Honored Tuesday

31 teachers from Cupertino and Santa Clara County selected for prestigious honor.

Santa Clara County’s 31 “Teachers of the Year,” including Anthony Edward Arnold from Miller Middle School, will be honored Tuesday at a recognition celebration.

The Miller Middle School Jazz Choir will perform throughout the event, which will start at 7 p.m. at the in Campbell. The honorees will receive dinner and engraved awards, and will be featured in video profiles.

The oldest of its kind in California, the gala ceremony will be co-hosted by Charles Weis, the county's superintendent, and Jessica Aguirre, NBC Bay Area News anchor.

The ceremony will feature a video tribute to Pauline Lowe, who helped jumpstart the event with her husband in 1970. It’s co-sponsored by the Santa Clara County Federal Credit Union and National Semiconductor Foundation, with additional support from the Santa Clara County Office of Education, Sixth District PTA, San Jose Mercury News and Santa Clara County School Boards Association.
