Since its 1984 inception CEEF has pumped more than $10 million into the city's schools providing funds for such things as music and arts classes. In 2010 $2.5 million was targeted for saving 115 teachers jobs and returning teacher-to-student ratios to 20:1 in grades 1 through 3.
