YOLO! Now Cupertino Students to Retake STAR or Get Zeros

A prank creates a security breach at Monta Vista High after test-taker posts photos on social media.

"YOLO," or "you only live once," is a catch phrase that's become very popular among the younger generation.

However, at Monta Vista High school in Cupertino the phrase synonymous with risk-taking could now cause everyone at the school to have to retake the California STAR test—or everyone will get a zero, state testing officials told CBS News.

All this because a student decided to fill in the bubbles of his answer sheet with the phrase YOLO and then post it on social media. State officials don't believe the students' cheated, but called the situation a security breach.

If the students all received zeros that would pull Monta Vista down from first place for the test in the Fremont Union High School District to last.
