Runners For Solidarity With Boston Draws Scores

T-shirts, with proceeds, going to One Fund Boston will be on sale at FitGeek Sports at the end of April.

About 50 people came out to show solidarity for those affected by the bombing at the Boston Marathon, participating in a fun run/walk on the Stevens Creek Trail Monday evening, organizer Diana Keh said Thursday.

The event was part of a nationwide effort by independent running stores to raise money for One Fund Boston, a charity that the Boston Athletic Association has recommended as the best way to help the people most affected by Monday's events. The run will take place along Stevens Creek Trail starting at 6:30 p.m.

"Thanks everyone for coming to the Boston Solidarity Run!" Keh wrote on her Facebook Page. "It was an amazing evening!"

Keh owns Fitgeek Sports, a Cupertino running store which also is in the process of creating about 50 "Runners for Boston" t-shirts. Keh expects to have them ready for sale by the end of April.

The entire $20 cost of each shirt will go to One Fund Boston, which this week announced two town hall hearings to get feedback on how and to whoms funds should be disbursed, to those who most need it. Special Master Kenneth Fineberg hopes to get checks in the hands of families by July 4.
