How to Support WVCS and the Low-Income Community

Two upcoming fun and tasty events are a great way to get out with the family and give back to the community in one fell swoop. Read how.

Here are a couple of reminders of how to support our West Valley Community Services over the next several days.

West Valley Dash of Hope

First up is the on . It’s a 5K and 10K run/walk event at Vasona Park in Los Gatos. The proceeds from the run benefit child hunger services of WVCS.

Taste of Compassion

This Taste of Compassion on Tuesday, July 24, may make your mouth water just reading about it. It’s a Hawaiian BBQ Luau and food drive at Sycamore Picnic Area 21979 San Fernando Avenue in Cupertino.

Food will be served between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and just take a gander at the menu, which offers Hawaiin Sun drinks as a beverage, too:

Buffet Menu

Hawaiian BBQ Chicken

Fresh tossed salad with choice of dressing

Fried Prawns

Fried Rice (vegetarian)

Chow Mein (vegetarian)

Steamed Vegetables

Hawaiian Spam Musubi

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids. Please RSVP by July 23 at www.tasteofcompassion.org or call 408-255-8033 ext. 152. Please leave your name, phone number, and the number of people in your party.

Reservations are first come, first served.

And just a reminder that gratuities are not included, but “very much appreciated” according to WVCS.

WVCS serves the communities of Cupertino, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno, and West San Jose. To our low-income neighbors, it provides food and nutrition services, shelter and housing assistance, financial assistance, and a whole lot more.
