U-Jam, I Jam, We All Jam At Quinlan!

Cupertino Patch is exploring the wide offerings of the city's Parks and Recreation Department.

This is the first week of classes, and while there's no pro-rating of fees, the city's classes are pretty reasonable, so that you can probably miss a session and still feel like you got good value.

Patch stumbled on the high-energy beats of K-pop tune, "Ring Ding Dong" by Shinee emanating from the Activity Room in the Quinlan Community Center and had to see what was going on.

Teresa Yang was finishing her noontime U-Jam Fitness class with 11 registered students, and they had worked up a sweat!

U-Jam is a cardio-dance fitness class with pre-choreographed moves, the Taiwan-born Yang said, and instructors like herself the can add their own style.

In the video I took for this story, in a demonstration she did for me, she's jamming to Ciera's "Gimme Dat."

Yang teaches at Quinlan Center 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesdays, and classes are $50 for the course that runs from June 19 to August 28.

She also teaches Tuesdays at the Palo Alto Hills Golf Club and Mondays at Overtime Fitness in Mountain View.
