Giving Back to Sunday Friends

Our families spend most of the year giving back to the community, but once a year our families have the opportunity to give back to the Sunday programs that help them. At Blackford, our families came together for a “Take Care of Sunday Friends Day” where most of the social activities were geared towards giving back to the Sunday Friends community. Children made Welcome Packets, which will be given to new families that attend our Sunday programs for the first time. Children also made Watercolor Bookmarks which will be given out to the community to educate them about Sunday Friends. Beautiful Aprons were also made and will be used by children to wear at upcoming programs during cooking projects.

Our special guest for the day was Theresa from Golden 1 Credit Union who taught a class on "Financial Recovery" where important tips were shared to help families take control of their finances and recover some stability in their life.

“It was truly my honor to participate. I was so struck by the eagerness of the parents and the great need for resources. For some of the children Sunday Friends is the only place it is safe to socialize. How profound the impact of SF is on their lives! They all touched my heart deeply. I was struck by how many people were engaged in activities at one time and it all seemed to flow....no easy task!”
