Eating Is Giving

Park Place Restaurant hosts the one-year anniversary of Taste of Compassion, the eat-out fundraising event for West Valley Community Services.

, the program that supports homeless and hunger services provided by West Valley Community Services, celebrates a one-year anniversary Saturday and Sunday.

At in the on S. De Anza Boulevard, 50 percent of the ticket price for the featured Taste of Compassion menu will go to WVCS and its services.

The menu includes a choice of soup or salad, one entree and a non-alcoholic beverage for $24 in advance, or $26 at the door for adults; $12 in advance or $13 at the door for kids.

The entree selections are: grilled skirt steak with French beans, fries, blue cheese and shallot marmalade; roasted chicken breast with
herbed spatzle, spinach and thyme jus; or potato four cheese ravioli with sage brown butter and ricotta cheese.

There are two seatings, 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and seating is limited. Reservations are encouraged and can be made online at
http://www.tasteofcompassion.orgor by calling 408-255-8033, extension 152 (leave your name, phone number and number of people in the party along with reservation time.)

Founded in 1973, WVCS provides basic needs such as housing assistance, food, and clothing to clients in Cupertino, Los Gatos, Monte Sereno, Saratoga, West San Jose and the unincorporated mountain regions.
