Cupertino Weekend Planner: Free Shakespeare in the Park
Is it a midsummer night's dream? No—it's really time to see Shakespeare in the Park! Plus Astronomy for Everyone, and a fun event to benefit West Valley Community Services.
Saturday
Free Shakespeare in the Park - 7:30 to 9:10 p.m. The San Francisco Shakespeare Festival returns to Memorial Park Amphitheater in Cupertino and celebrates its 31st season with Macbeth, directed by Kenneth Kelleher. Generally regarded as one of the Bard’s major tragedies (along with Hamlet, Othello, and King Lear), this is the first time SF Shakes has produced it for Free Shakespeare in the Park. The 100-minute play is for its suspenseful plot and thrilling scenes of witchcraft and swordplay.
Summer of Science-Astronomy for Everyone – 3 p.m. Learn more about our universe, from the tiny to the vast at this family friendly look at the heavens. All Cupertino Library Summer of Science Events are held at the Cupertino Community Hall, 10350 Torre Ave. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Dash of Hope 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk - This annual run benefits West Valley Community Services' childhood hunger services. The USATF-certified 5K and 10K courses are beautiful in Los Gatos' Vasona Park, and afterwards, the Dash offers great finish-line festivities including food, awards, and music. Participants can either download this Flyer, and mail in with entry fee, or by registering online at Active.com.
