Senior Moments

Exercise and the Older Adult

Consistent exercise for seniors is the key to happy and healthy aging.

The Potential of Pilates

Gain strength, flexibility and balance through the regular practice of Pilates.

If a long, lean physique is what you hope to accomplish with your exercise routine, look no further, because Pilates may be your answer. With its sophisticated system of springs, straps and pulleys, more than 100 exercises can be …

When shopping for a gym membership, it’s important to consider annual fees, monthly fees, proximity of gym to your home or work, what type of classes and equipment the club offers and whether the club has a child care facility. If you are a gym snob and only like to work out in the finest of clubs, you may need to venture out of Cupertino and head over to Club One in San Jose, but if a family-oriented gym is what you seek, then look no further. One of the following four fitness clubs that we have right here in Cupertino, should …

Maybe it’s time to change your approach to diet and fitness. Challenge yourself to take the focus off dieting.  Instead, resolve to get fit and healthy and join a gym. I know, you have been a member of a gym in the past, and you have failed to make it there consistently after the first few weeks. But it doesn’t have to be that way. The city's Parks and Recreation Department offers a viable resource for those who hope to get active or maybe even shed a few pounds. It's …

Nice gym with good hours -- and if you are member of the Cupertino Senior Center, the rate is *much* better than other gyms. However, no tennis with the special senior rate. You can join the Senior Center for $20/year, and as I recall anyone over 55 is eligible.   more ›
