I'm a San Francisco-based freelance writer, and I cover everything from crime and courts to high school and professional sports. I developed a passion for journalism growing up in New York reading legendary sports writers Murray Chass and Joseph Durso in the 1970s and early 1980s. I was a staff writer for the Los Angeles Daily News from 2000 to 2007. As a freelancer, I've contributed to ESPN.com, Baseball America, LA Weekly, and the Philadelphia Daily News. I'm a registered Independent, and consider myself a left-leaning libertarian.
