International Night Features Multiculturalism in Cupertino
The Cupertino Historical Society & Museum hosted an international night Saturday to celebrate the history and diversity of the city.
It was an educational and entertaining evening at Quinlan Community CenterSaturday. The Cupertino Historical Socieity and Musuem presented lectures and multicultural shows to illuminate Cupertino's past, and inspire its future.
"Did you know when Cupertino was incorporated as a city?" asked Steve Ting, a CHSM board member.
It was 1955.

Ting continued on to tell the audience that De Anza College was established in 1967, Apple was founded in 1976, Quinlan Community Center was completed in 1990, and the current Cupertino store of Whole Foods opened in 2007.
Besides historical information, the International Night also brought the audience cultural performances with roots from two of Cupertino's largest ethic groups, Chinese and Indian.

Before the performances, Vice Mayor Gilbert Wong represented the Cupertino City Council to present a proclamation to the CHSM.
The program hosts were Don Sun, executive director of the Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association (APAPA), and Gail Gretwell Hugger, a CHSM board member.
